The Horse, The Bull and The Machine – There Is A New King On The Throne

mclarenlamboferrariThe forests of the world are in danger, more danger than ever before. Trees are going to be cut, pulped and made into shiny glossy posters of these three gods to keep the Mclaren F1 company on every gearhead’s walls. The automotive world was expecting a miracle, something to shut the green brigade up with, we all knew there was something in store, we even knew it was one of three companies who would answer the call, but what Geneva gave us, well, that was breathtaking. The Mclaren P1 , La Ferrari and The Lamborghini Veneno in the same city at the same time, like I said, trees are in imminent danger not from any of these cars, they are the cutting edge in green technology today, but from wall posters.… Read More…

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Venet – World’s Fastest Road Legal Art

It sometimes is annoying when people say that the Bugatti Veyron series of cars aren’t beautiful or artistic enough while some go as far as stating that they look boxy and drab. I really don’t fault them, look at the Mona Lisa, a painting so good that for centuries people have tried finding fault in it. Human nature I say. And truth be told a car so poised and so “monstrously elegant” at the insane speeds that it so easily achieves, anybody would become a mumbling fool trying to find faults in it. It is a beautiful car, its beauty a partly a result of the engineering that makes the Bugatti Veyron the reigning god of the automobile world and also because of the “monstrous elegance” I mentioned earlier and partly because of the way the car unlike our other God’s of the tarmac looks you in the face and  makes you just want to drive instead of  inspiring song and poetry. … Read More…

Nissan Deltawing – The Tipping Point Of Racecars

At many levels, the job of a critic is quite simple. It is easy to toss away the hard work put in by someone by a few negative remarks. In the world of motorsports, a certain similar trend follows too. Many regard motor racing as an “expensive entertainment”. The concept of cars running in a loop around a track seems unnecessary to the unpassionate eye. There is a certain degree of uncomfortable gossip about motor racing committees surging in more money even as the world’s fuel resources are depleting.

But little is known to such people that it’s the technologies on the race car that are eventually incorporated on road cars, and once every 10 years something new always comes up that changes the ball game. This time, it’s the NISSAN DELTAWING. And I reckon this right here is the very revolution that motorsport will be adapting to in the coming years.… Read More…

Why? Because Racecar.

It’s not a car, it’s a bloody dart, I curse as I saw car number 69 tear up the Autodromo Ricardo Paletti straights. Even when the F2 driver actually braked, he still didn’t seem to slow down but infact  just slingshot through the corner. I was seated in the stands, of a racetrack situated in the hills of Verano, awestruck as Hawks Racing’s car, which could well be the new batmobile, took the finals laps of its FSAE Italy Endurance event. “It’s a pretty sight this”, I thought to myself. “Stuttgart has nothing on them.”… Read More…

F1 Successor (P1). Is it?

McLaren P1

McLaren P1

Unveiled just 9 days ahead of the Paris motor show to be held on 27th September, 2012, McLaren P1 is here for you. Dripping with McLaren’s eye popping orange, the P1’s official pictures just spread like wildfire all over the internet. The images clearly showcased the car after its teaser videos so far. Looks? My God that car is a beauty. With just a look of it, one can say the aesthetics of a mp4-12c purely studded in it, just an evolved MP4-12C to brief it up.

The powertrain has yet not been confirmed but the current speculations infer the same 3.8 litre twin turbo V8 engine as in the mp4-12c, but a little tweaked one producing an enormous 803 bhp. Adding to it is a fully functional KERS unit producing 160 bhp to a total 963 bhp. This is utterly hyper-car territory.  The unique claim by McLaren in this one was “the best aerodynamics”. … Read More…

Mercedes V12 To Go Silent, AMG To Take Over

Autoweek quotes that Mercedes Benz has decided to handover its prestigious art of making V12 engine to its in- house tuner AMG. Due to environmental concerns and rising fuel prices, automobile firms are downsizing their massive engine to get better efficiency. As for the new BMW M5, they have reduced the engine from beautiful V10 to turbocharged V8.  Likewise Mercedes has decided to stop the production of its own V12 engine.

However in contrast the brand which is synonymous with performance ,the AMG is well suited to build  its biggest and smoothest powerplants. AMG has a charismatic history of  delivering high performance engine since the very beginning. Even Pagani couldn’t escape the gravity of  it’s spectacular engineering, which is why they preferred to use V12 crafted by AMG for Huayra instead of making their own.… Read More…
