Audi To Buy Italian Bike Maker Ducati?
Audi BMW rivalry to extend to the superbike section?
If rumors are to be believed German car maker Audi may soon become the owner of the most famous Italian superbike manufacturer Ducati. As reported by Car magazine Audi has struck a deal with Ducati giving it exclusive purchase rights. The approximate purchase price is stated as 300 million Euros. Along with the company Audi will inherit around 200 million Euros in liabilities making the actual purchase price around 50- 100 million Euros. However till date Audi still hasn’t signed the deal, it just has obtained exclusive rights meaning that Audi will be given first preference for the ownership of Ducati. If Ducati gets a very German “Nein” from Audi, standing in line are Indian companies Mahindra and Hero.
