MotoGP Magic Descends On Silverstone

This weekend sees the MotoGP™ grid descend once again on the Silverstone circuit to fight it out for top honours at the Hertz British Grand Prix, where Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo will be looking to extend his 20 point lead over rival Casey Stoner. With more than 60 years of history Silverstone has become one of the most prestigious venues dedicated to motorsport. ‘I cannot ride this Ducati’ declares Valentino Rossi after struggling in Qatar MotoGP

A downbeat Valentino Rossi conceded that at present he simply cannot get to grips with the 2012 Ducati after struggling to 10th place in the Qatar Grand Prix.

The seven-time MotoGP champion was a long way off the pace throughout the Losail weekend, and could not match team-mate Nicky Hayden’s pace.

“I had big problems at the beginning of the race: when we are on new tyres I struggle under braking,” he told Italian broadcaster Mediaset. “On top of that, I lost four or five seconds after coming together with Barbera. I then managed to improve a bit and on the last lap I even managed to set my quickest lap on worn tyres. But it’s useless, we struggle to be competitive.… Read More…

Lorenzo Grabs Victory From Pole In Enthralling Qatar MotoGP

Jorge Lorenzo from Yamaha Factory Racing took his first ever premier class racing victory after a long and arduous battle against current world champion Casey Stoner and  Dani Pedrosa, both from Repsol Honda. This victory also marked a great start to the 1000cc era of MotoGP. Starting from pole for the first time since the US Grand Prix last July, Lorenzo held the lead until the third lap before Stoner assumed first position with a pass on the start/finish straight. Lorenzo then followed Stoner for the majority of the race before passing his rival with three laps to go, and he eventually crossed the line 0.852s ahead of Pedrosa who placed second as Stoner ended the race third.… Read More…

Jorge Lorenzo Takes Pole At The Season Opening Qatar MotoGP

Jorge LorenzoJorge Lorenzo of Yamaha Factory Racing trounced over last year’s world champion Casey Stoner of Repsol Honda in an enthralling head to head battle for the pole position at the season opening Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar. Lorenzo beat Stoner to the fastest lap time by a slim 0.221s giving him a total time of 1’54.634, whilst Cal Crutchlow ( Monster Yamaha Tech 3) made it two Yamahas on the front row with his best-ever qualifying display. The MotoGp bikes will be back on track and warming up by 6 pm local time and the race is scheduled to start at 10pm local time ( +3 hours).… Read More…
