BMW Revels Its Full London Olympic Fleet

BMW-2012-OlympicsBMW, the official automotive partner for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, has revealed its full London 2012 fleet. The brand will have around 4,000 vehicles at the games assisting with any daily tasks.

From transferring athletes around the Olympic Village, towing horse ambulances or providing a mobile camera platform, a variety of different BMW and MINI cars will be on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Fleet CO2 emissions for the games had been set at an ambitious 120g/km by the Games’ organisers, but thanks to a combination of zero emission electric vehicles, hybrids and Efficient Dynamics diesels, the BMW fleet CO2 average is 116g/km, equating to 64.5mpg.… Read More…

BMW i8 Spyder Concept Photos Leaked

The BMW i8 Spyder Concept photos has been leaked by a Czech website, which is reported to debut at the Beijing Motor Show in April. With i8 prototypes out in full force testing in public recently, the spyder version comes as a surprise.

BMW Recalls 5-Series And 6-Series Models

BMW is recalling 1.3m cars globally amid fears 5-series and 6-series models could catch fire. This is for model year 2003-2010 cars. Of those, Reuters notes that some 368,000 examples were sold in the U.S. – most of them sedans like the one above.

BMW said: “In some remote cases, the battery cable inside the boot may be incorrectly mounted.  This can result in the electrical system malfunctioning, the vehicle failing to start and, in some cases, to charring or fire.”
