BMW Unveils Its Dazzling Zagato Coupe At Villa d’Este

The one-off Zagato Coupe is undoubtedly a beauty, blending the DNA of two accomplished companies for a hand-crafted creation that will look right at home out at the banks of Lake Como.

The BMW Zagato Coupe is officially described as a one-off and has come about thanks to a friendship between BMW design senior vice president Adrian van Hooydonk and Zagato chief designer Norihiko Harada.

BMW Revels Its Full London Olympic Fleet

BMW-2012-OlympicsBMW, the official automotive partner for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, has revealed its full London 2012 fleet. The brand will have around 4,000 vehicles at the games assisting with any daily tasks.

From transferring athletes around the Olympic Village, towing horse ambulances or providing a mobile camera platform, a variety of different BMW and MINI cars will be on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Fleet CO2 emissions for the games had been set at an ambitious 120g/km by the Games’ organisers, but thanks to a combination of zero emission electric vehicles, hybrids and Efficient Dynamics diesels, the BMW fleet CO2 average is 116g/km, equating to 64.5mpg.… Read More…

BMW i8 Spyder Concept Photos Leaked

The BMW i8 Spyder Concept photos has been leaked by a Czech website, which is reported to debut at the Beijing Motor Show in April. With i8 prototypes out in full force testing in public recently, the spyder version comes as a surprise.

BMW Recalls 5-Series And 6-Series Models

BMW is recalling 1.3m cars globally amid fears 5-series and 6-series models could catch fire. This is for model year 2003-2010 cars. Of those, Reuters notes that some 368,000 examples were sold in the U.S. – most of them sedans like the one above.

BMW said: “In some remote cases, the battery cable inside the boot may be incorrectly mounted.  This can result in the electrical system malfunctioning, the vehicle failing to start and, in some cases, to charring or fire.”

Fewer than 1 per cent of cars inspected so far have exhibited the problem.… Read More…

Video: 2012 BMW 335i – Still The Bench Mark?

MotorTrend takes the new 2012 BMW 335i to the race track. The result? 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds. Other stats include: 1/4 mile in 13.3 sec @ 103.9 mph and lateral acceleration of .90g.

The new F30 335i is powered by the award-winning N55 3.0 liter straight-six outputs 300 horsepower and 300 lb.-ft (407 Nm) of torque.
