What’s Inside a F1 Car?

Sauber CutwayEver wondered what goes on inside a Formula 1 car? Well, it turns out that we’re not the only ones, and fortuitously for us, some people with the actual means to find out — the Sauber F1 team — have done the noble thing, and cut one in half. Yes, a real F1 car.

As with all forms of motorsport, the trick is to get as much weight as low to the ground as possible. For the driver, that means a seating position that’s not just cramped, but a mere 10 centimeters off the ground. Fernando Alonso Triumphant In Rain Ridden Malaysian Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso snatched victory from Sergio Perez in his hard-charging Sauber-Ferrari in this very eventful and rain ridden Malaysian Grand Prix. This victory for Ferrari can mainly due to the torrential downpour in Sepang, helped by Hamilton missing his marker in the pits followed by some shoddy tire changing that cost him his lead he had due to his pole position at tthe starting of the race. Alonso held his head through some crashes, heavy rain and a red flag in the ninth lap to win his first Grand Prix of the season. F1: Sauber unveils its 2012 F1 car

Sauber became the sixth Formula 1 team to unveil its car for the 2012 season when the wraps came off the new Ferrari-powered C31.

The Swiss-based outfit announced last Friday that Key was leaving to take a job in Britain with an unspecified employer.

“I think we have a strong team,” said Mexican Perez. “James was a key person, a good leader but I think we have very good people at the team who can handle the job and the team will be together.

“I am very confident the team will be very strong,” added Perez, looking forward to his second full season.
