Porsche yesterday confirms the name for its forthcoming new sports car in the SUV segment is Macan. The name Macan is derived from the Indonesian word for tiger and combines suppleness, power, fascination and dynamics – core characteristics of this new all-terrain car.
“The Macan combines all sports car characteristics with the benefits of an SUV and is a genuine Porsche”, said Bernhard Maier, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG.

Mahindra & Mahindra, an auto manufacturer, has announced that it would reopen the bookings for the recent SUV model X
UV500 for limited time period of 10 days, which commences January 25, after suspending it in 2011 due to the overwhelming response.
The firm has stated that if bookings cross 7,200 it would undertake draw for allotment of the sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Audi launched the Q3 at the Auto Expo 2012 with Mr. Peter Schwarzenbauer, member of the board of management of Audi for marketing and sales along with Michael Perschke, head, Audi India.

SUV fever hits the Auto Expo, this is Mercedes’s latest SUV to come to India. Mercedes launched its brand new SUV the M 350 CDI at the Expo. This new breed of M-Class will be more fuel efficient and lighter than the one it replace.
The third generation M-Class comes packed with technology on and off-road to give the driver the best of both worlds. These include safety system like ABS, ESP and Electronic Traction System.
