Vettel Grabs First Pole Of The Season

Sebastian-Vettel-Red-BullDefending double world champion Sebastian Vettel grabbed his first pole position of 2012 on Saturday when he planted his Red Bull car at the top of the times in qualifying for Sunday’s controversial Bahrain Grand Prix.

Although Mercedes were the favourite going into the Saturday afternoon session they were not able to make a mark with Nico Rosberg losing time in the final sector.

That left Vettel, Mark Webber, Hamilton and Jenson Button fighting for pole position.

Vettel quickest on first day of F1 testing at Barcelona

Sebastian Vettel put Red Bull on top of the first day of pre-season testing at Barcelona.

The German had risen to the top of the timesheets shortly before lunch, displacing compatriot and Force India pilot Nico Hulkenberg.

With warmer track conditions not as conducive to chasing times, many teams opted for longer run programmes, but Vettel was able to slightly better his time to end the day with a 1m23.265s.… Read More…

F1: Red Bull The RB8 Revealed

Formula One’s defending drivers’ and constructors’ world champions Red Bull Racing took the wraps off their new Renault-powered RB8 at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in eastern Spain yesterday. The new car features the same visibly ‘stepped’ nose section as seen in every new F1 car so far with the exception of McLaren’s MP4-27. However, the car’s step-nose seems to be a hybrid of the dramatic step seen on the Catheram, Ferrari, Sauber and the smoother steps seen on the Lotus’ E20 and Force India’s VJM05.
